WASHINGTON – For Yeoman 1st Class Marcus Morris, joining the Navy was the first step in a life-changing journey—one that would eventually inspire several others to follow in his footsteps, including his own brother.

LCDR John Thornton, a native of Katy, TX, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2014, where he was commissioned as a Naval Aviator and selected to fly the MH-53 helicopter. In 2017, he transferred to the Human Resources Community.
